I have a couple of the earlier version of this, and they're fantastic little ARM type boxes that run linux, and let you attach USB2 drives and flash drives to share.
I don't know anything about the service, I put arch linux arm on mine, and use it as a home samba, mini linux web/shell LAMP server.
I/O is much better than a raspberry pi, but no hdmi, just 4 USB ports, and a 10/100/1000 RJ45 port.
