Polarising filter for M lenses

Does anyone have any idea on how many stops the 13356 polarising filter of Leica 'eats up'? On the instructions it simply says that once you have found the desired setting for the filter you should fold it back down in front of the lens and set the exposure. But of course the meter reading (whether you are using the built in one or an external one) would give a value that doesn't take into acount the presence of the filter.
Any suggestions?

I'm reminded that there can be some ambiguity in the M6 terminology, as there's the original M6 and the later M6TTL. One might assume the TTL refers to through-the-lens metering, and it does, but means only that it features TTL FLASH metering in addition to TTL ambient light metering that the M6 already had. Confusing, eh..
