Hi!
Does anybody happen to have any good guide or pointers to a guide about converting old Polaroid Land Camera to accept default double darks?
I have a Polaroid 110B which is in original shape at the moment.
I know there is Razzle which makes the conversions but it seems to be very expensive. Only if he could sell the pieces, I could do the modifications myself...

Alpenhause and Byron offer very similar variations. However, prices are very similar.
Razzle used to sell a CD with all the progress photos on doing what you are talking about. Sold this on eBay and I bought one. haven't seen them offered for a while.
Have seen variations where a Graflok back for a Graflex camera was added on the back.
The issues that seem to run the price up are:
1) getting the film plane moved back from the pack film size opening in the camera, to a point where the lens can cast a 4x5 image on the GG or film.
2) moving the front standard back accordingly so the original 127 lens focuses on the new location of the film plane.
3) working out the rangefinder cam to compensate for these new locations, if you want to retain rangefinder focus.
So, it's not too surprising when you see the work involved to see the prices where they are. In some cases, where using other focal lengths of large format lenses come into play, the price goes up for the added complexity.
Now, if you simply want to put the double dark slides in a holder that places them at the original film opening, that would be much easier, and involve no modifications to the front standard or rangefinder. The problem would be that the opening at the film plane is approximately the size of Polaroid Pack Film (roughly 3 x 4 inches), which would be giving away a lot of wasted film on using 4X5 double dark slide holders. That may actually be justified by the lesser price of the camera overall.
To elaborate on your inquiry about guides and instruction, both Razzle and Byron have video's on youtube that will allow you to get some fairly good glimpses of the changes made to the cameras. Don't know about Alpenhause.

option8 has answered all my questions in a timely fashion... I have converted a 110a and it was easy to do but took a long time

Louis Mendes - famous NYC street portraits photographer uses one as a back up his Crown Graphic. I asked him where he had his converted and he mentioned Panoramic Camera Repair in Manhattan. He said that the conversion costs about $500 if you supply the parts.

Yup, I saw that and when I was ready to spring for it, it was no longer available. My understanding is that he withdrew from sale it to avoid hassles from another conversion specialist. i'd love to have bought one before that happened.
