Hi guys

I love my Polaroid 195 and especially the look of the ISO 3000 B+W film.

I've got a proper Polaroid 5 stop filter for the lens.

Now I might be going crazy but I'd like someone to confirm something

Using the 5 stop filter with ISO3000 film will effectively reduce the ISO to 200? Or a bit lower (full stop is ISO3200?)

Cheers

The 5 stop filter will reduce to a bit less than ISO 100. The 200 does not make much difference at the high end. I am not sure what filter you have for your 195 but the standard Polaroid ND filter is only 4 stops and would bring it to just under ISO 200.

I looked it up and it does seem to be 5 stops. The good thing about Polaroid is that in a few shots, you can tweak your meter settings to what you like. Post some pics from your 195.

Trying the meter in my R-D1 through it and it confirms that it's 5 stops - so what ISO are we looking at it reducing to, exactly?

In my experience it's hard to use the 195 in bright daylight despite the use of 1 or even 2 3-stop ND filters. The filters are fine, but on two different bodies with (what I thought were) good bellows, I always get light leaks. That film is just so sensitive...

Depends really. I find FP3000B has different sensitivity to daylight vs indoor/tungsten. It´s an indoor film really. Outdoors I often rate it at 6400, in contrasty situations, and 4800 in more hazy/diffused light. So a 5 stop filter would bring it down to 200 in bright and sunny conditions.
