Zink Imaging Shareholder to Acquire Polaroid Brand
MINNETONKA, Minn. , Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Polaroid Holding Company today announced that it has entered into a "stalking horse" Asset Purchase Agreement with PHC Acquisitions, LLC, an affiliate of Genii Capital, S.A., a Luxembourg based private equity firm. Under the terms of the agreement, PHC Acquisitions would acquire certain of the company's assets including, but not limited to, all of Polaroid's intellectual property rights and the "Polaroid" name and brand.

It would be very amusing if this purchase was done by Kodak, and very interesting if it was Ilford . . .

Polaroid was already doing that. They had been previously sold (after their LAST bankruptcy) to a marketing firm that only wanted the name and whatever they could milk out of the last gasp of Polaroid film. They licensed the Polaroid brand on all kinds of very cheap and junky digital cameras, have you not seen them? Then their CEO got himself arrested for allegedly doing horrible things, and the whole shebang fell down.
It could be that ringfoto just wants another brand name to stick on their cameras.
