Polaroid Dust and scratch removal

I've been trying to use the polaroid utility to remove the line from the scan attached, but I cannot seem to get it to work. Does anyone have any advise on how to get it done? I have an entire roll of this -- and these pics are important to me, so I need to figure a way out.

I am using the utility stand-alone as I do not have photoshop. I do have Lightroom, and I can use the spot healing facility in Lightroom, but thats a bit tedious. Any other ideas would be much appreciated.

It actually works quite well on spots but should work with lines. Once you have opened your file, you then go to 'Action' and 'Auto Create Mask'. I select light for my Polaroid prints but you should select depending on your lines. I leave all other settings at their default. Once the mask is created then go to 'Actions' and 'Clean Image'. This is where it gets confusing because the image cleans in a new window but you cannot save it there. Do not exit the window but go to the original window and 'Save'. Use 'Save As' if you want to keep your original jpg.
