polaroid land camera 250 battery repair

I just got my hands on a Polaroid Land Camera 250, but the negative battery wire has broken due to corrosion. I can't figure out where this wire goes. As much as I can see, only two wires come from the shutter, the positive and the third (also black) wire. I'd like to do the AAA battery mod. It looks like the black plastic front can't be simply taken out either.

Here are two photos of the battery compartment (battery holder and door clip have been removed) and a close up of the two wires. Where do I solder the negative battery wire to?

I just did the same mod to my 230. White=plus, black=minus. It says so on the contacts.
The corrosion had damaged my original wires beyond repair, so I had to solder a new one in from battery to shutter assembly. Wasn't too difficult, though. Now it works perfectly.

You soulder the black wire to that rivoted piece with the copper going to it as referenced in your picture.

I had the same problem with my 250, yours is in far better condition. Also If you dont have the protective piece on the bottom of your camera to protect the slider I would look in there also and clean the terminals there. Basically there are terminals that connect when opening the camera fully to engage the lightmeter. Mine were corroded so bad that i was losing connection.

ZF1, Thanks. This is the info I'm looking for. I'm not exactly clear on what you said. Do I solder to A, B, or C in this image? And what protective piece are you referring to?

I was told about this website that explains the battery mod. It shows where the negative wire is attached, but it also instructs you to bypass it and connect the battery directly to the wire coming from the shutter.

Does anyone know what the purpose of that switch/copper assembly that is being bypassed is?
