Poll: FF vs APS

I will agree with Red's early post that in general "there's no replacement for displacement" with some qualifications and up to a point. I've long liked medium format but balk at large format for handling reasons.

There's also the issue of technology and refinement, doing more with less, but usually at higher cost. So it's a balance of attributes IMO. And while "full frame" keeps getting better I still like medium format. 😀

I invited you to state your reasons in addition to vote in the poll. Reasons and votes are not mutually exclusive.

True, however your conclusion "Based on the poll, all other things being equal, more people would choose FF over APS, so clearly there are some differences" is wrong. That people prefer FF over APS-C doesn't mean "there are some differences" - it only means people prefer FF over APS-C. Nothing more, nothing less.

So, the poll is not suited for what you wanted and the question remains: why this poll?

Maybe we should just get on with the barfight you started 😉

there are two main reasons where a FF DSLR is worth the price, making large prints and the viewfinder.

personally i don't make large prints and i'm not a fan of large prints to begin with. i also know in some years high-res digital display panels will replace large prints. as far as the viewfinder, a viewfinder magnifier is good enough for me.
