Processed in Multigrade Developer.

Like a lot of you, I love the wet darkroom (my wife calls it the laundry room) because I love taking the process all the way through myself, with no help from a computer. I even enjoy loading my film cassettes from 100' rolls of FP4+. I just wish I didn't have to wait for darkness to print. That's the only time I can get the dkrm dark enough. Tough in the summer, with these long days. I'd love to print in the mornings, when I'm fresh!

Without a print, you have nothing. Even if you get digital capture, the image has to exist out of your computer.

I am going thru some family photos and there are pix of my grandfather when he was a boy, I am 68. There are wedding photos of our parents and vacation times. There are photos of my father in the Navy in WW2.

You really should consider if a pic can live if not in analog format.

I generally make my own prints. There is a bunch of digital capture stuff I have done over three years that needs printing. Life was simple when you turned it over to someone else. Now we have gotten too fussy and it has slowed things down.

Don`t forget a decent album that will not rot your photos. That lets out the cheapos.

Is good to know, that out there is still plenty of people going "against the grain". Darkroom it is cause I prefer my own magic over computerized one.

I voted absolutely as well. Holding a fibre paper finished print in your hand is so much better than looking at a scan on a PC screen.

Viewed about 40 11x17 prints this weekend from a photographer from NYC. Superb print quality with amazing shadow and highlight detail.

Also, last week I had the chance to see the Richard Avedon exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Some great work that was well presented.

I haven't done as much as I would like at this point, but I love the process! I went through one box of cheap paper, now feel confident enough to upgrade to Ilford.

I even tried burning. It worked - sort of.

Just returned to b&w darkroom printing after doing color (analog, also in a darkroom) for a year or two. Wow....the prints are just so beautiful.

A print coming up in Dektol is a magical thing to experience, as I've told people who've only experienced digital.

OTOH, I don't miss spotting fiber prints, waiting for prints to wash and dry in a gang darkroom, hoping none of my fellow students were dumb enough to contaminate any of the chemicals or water, running through a ton of paper trying for the perfect print, dealing with imperfectly aligned enlargers, seeing to crop...

Not having done it I didn't vote, but I have wanted to for so long I can hardly remember...
Now I have an enlarger on my dining room table and a cupboard full of paper and bits and pieces and my improvised darkroom will be up and running as soon as the blackout curtains are ready....
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Made a print last week. Made one today. I print every chance I get and I love it. Even found a 4x5 enlarger just like the ones we have a school, and for only $100 US!!

Love Fiber Paper and can't see ever going back to RC except for the contact sheets.

Darkroom work doesn't interest me in the slightest.
I shoot only colour slides, and the vibrant brilliance of their projected images still gives me goosebumps.
