If you are a film photographer do you listen to analog music on LP's?
If you are a digital photographer, do you listen to digital music on CD's?
If you listen to analog music on LP's, do you think film photos are better?
If you listen to digital music on CD's, do you digital photos are better?

If you are listening your favorite LP with a digital camera in your hands and you see something worth photographing do you give up? If you are out taking film pictures do you bring your LP collection with you? If you have an IPod and an M4 but no film do you...I got confused, I feel dizzy...

I have eight film cameras and 4 digital cameras in the house (not all presently used), about 9000 LP's, some few 78rpm sets, several hundred CD's, even some reel-to-reel tapes and bunches of cassettes. There are two cassette players and three turntables in the house presently being used, as was as two CD walkmen, and a couple of system CD players.

In short, when CD's came along I had too many lp's to "convert". I shot exclusively digital for a couple of years, but lost by ability to really "see" in the process. Returning to film, I find I also shoot better digital. It's not a universal. Its how I work, how I see.

But, yes, in my heart of hearts I think analog is better than digital, especially in music reproduction.

I have LPs, CDs, MP3s, digital cameras, camera phones, 35mm cameras, medium format cameras, and large format cameras...whatever tool it takes to get the job done, I'm covered.

I took a bad film photo of my record player... Does that count?

strictly film and strictly cd's and I'm old enough to have grown up with lp's and 45's. neither is better just different.

I have all o the above - but no camera or album overlaps. They are quite different and make me feel different when I use each. Better? In the eye of the beholder, as usual...

I use almost everything, from tapes and vinyls to mp3s and flacs. Mostly mp3s and flacs of course as I am trying to keep my collection of vinyls, CDs and tapes at the best state possible.
Frequently, when I buy a new CD or Vinyl, I digitize it and listen to that copy while I enjoy staring at its leaflets and the art of its cover.
I am between film and digital and it seems that the same goes for my audio listening experience.

While I prefer film for photography, I really prefer cd for audio. If I can't go to a concert... But I'm covered with 2 turntables permanently connected to my pc to record any LP I find that looks interesting: one set up for LP's, the other for 78rpm.

These last days I shoot film and listen worryingly less music ( on radio ) . But these things are on a sinusoid line , I know . Soon , I'll shoot digital and listen on my Benz Micro some Dire Straits , or Mozart , who knows. And after , Listen on CD and shoot back film 6x6 on an older than me Agfa Isolette ... As somebody said , I agree , things are not better or worse , but different. If we take different sides , we can live richer experiences .

I've never posted on RFF before, but I just have to jump in on this one!

I don't have any digital camera's and I listen to vinyl records almost exclusively. I even prefer to buy new albums on LP if available. Music and photography are my two main hobbies and I enjoy the extra effort analogue requires. I don't really know why, but it feels more satisfactory.
