Whatzisname who invented ths Schwalberg strap? Bob! Actually someplace here I have the copy of Leica Fotografie English language edition announcing the new hood design. Within months the bottom had dropped out of the market for used old style hoods. Fifty cents to a couple of bucks max if it was mint.

Right here bitching about the weather. I had a 5 PM outdoor shoot scheduled with a gorgeous young lady, so it's windy as hell and raining.

Hey, it ain't easy remembering over sixty years worth of mostly useless trivia! Or saving nearly fifty years worth of neatly filed negatives and contact sheets. http://thepriceofsilver.blogspot.com is a fantastic collection of useless trivia, interesting photos including some of famous people long before they became famous, and pretty young (and sometimes nude) girls long before they entered their late fifties...LOL

How about the de-fenestrated lens hood? I'm about to invent it myself, as I have a 12536 with a superficlal crack that nobody wants. Not even for free! 🙁

It may be defenestrated one of these days. Just to test our new windows...

I find it amazing how such widely known things fade away. POOF! Gone! The Schwalberg strap got plenty of mention in the photo mags and I knew a lot of photographers who made or modified a strap to the Schwalberg specs.

Nobody under the age of fifty seems to understand the concept behind guide numbers either, and how they can be used with continuous lights for determining exposure when the light hitting the subject is too low to get a meter reading, or just too far away.

I don't do windows, and I stopped using hoods after my wife had that minor surgery...

Lens shades help me prevent big greasy fingerprints on my lenses. I'm clumsy.
