I'm having a real world crisis,

Power shortage,

I often carry an IPad in my bag along with my Ipone and battery powered digital camera.

I have a whole pouch filled with charging cables and batteries... Yuck!

The problem is, Im not usually near a outlet, let alone have the time to charge one or more of my trinkets (and you know I forget to plug them in at night sometimes)

Can anyone recommend a portable power solution? That would fit in my bag.
On a side note, I wonder how I could charge my cameras battery via usb...

Not really tech savvy, so keep it simple for me please!

There are numerous portable Li battery packs that have USB ports. You charge the battery pack at home. They vary in price, size and capacity. Some are as small as a deck of cards and others are about the size of a portable USB hard drive. They are not expensive.

I use one with two USB-out ports 1( amp and 2 amps).

It is important to remember if a battery pack experiences a direct short circuit it could burst into flames. This situation is easily avoided by using high quality USB cables and storing the battery such that small metal objects can't randomly enter the USB ports.

Notepad, pencil and Leica M2?

(Sorry, couldn't resist).

Cheers,

R.

Roger,

That's the other bag! Nikon SP, notepad, and some sort of medical advertisement pen I lifted. Not that I write down exposures or anything... I just like to doodle.

Good God no! But one does sometimes need to write down addresses, phone numbers, the names of photographers at exhibitions, etc.

Cheers,

E.
