I shot this portrait of Mack a couple weeks ago and finally got the neg scanned. He'll be 14 next month!

I shot it with a 75mm f2.5 Color Heliar CV lens that I got from our fellow RFFer, Helen Hill. Very sharp lens! This was from the first roll that I shot with it. Leica M6, Tri-X, EI-320.

we're watching him grow up a little at a time. he's looks much more mature than in the last (current) portrait you'd posted a just a few months ago. I like his direct gaze in this one. lotta trust going on here.

Yeah he has changed a lot since last summer, when the last portrait I posted of him was made. I haven't made as many new photos of him in the last year and I need to start doing them more often.

Great shot. I like the background tone a lot.

The background is just the side of the apartment building we live in. I like plain backgrounds for portraits better than busy ones, unless the stuff in the background has something to do with the person I'm photographing, and plain backgrounds outdoors are usually easy to find if you look for one.

they get to an age where sometimes they won't sit for a portrait for even a second. in the case of my daughter, that age never came. in the case of my son, it's lasted for about 10 years now (he's 25), so enjoy his cooperative nature. having teenaged kids can make you wonder how your own parents survived your youth sometimes.
