On a recent trip to Portugal I photographed my friend Antonio, which reminded me of a photo of him I'd taken in Ireland over forty years earlier. I wonder if other RFFrs have taken portraits with a substantial lapse of time in between. I'd love to see them.

I did a portrait series in my hometown in 1989, and revisited the project in 2009. Many of the people shown had an important part in my upbringing.

Two of the original subjects had passed on during the 20-year gap, and "substitute" subjects who knew the deceased filled in, but you'll be able to figure that out.

The project, as 16x20 prints, was donated to the local library.
