possible light leak? Please advice

Dear all,

I just had my M6 serviced by a reputable technician and the first few rolls that were developed I notice some light spots on the scanned negatives. These light areas only show up on pictures taken outdoors or bright interior. I've attached four examples and hopefully someone can advice me if its a light leak. You will notice that the bottom area, especially the left side is lighter

These were C41 processed Ilford XP2 Super. They were scanned with minimum levels adjustments on an Epson V700.

where specifically are you referring to? Is it the light patch at the bottom of the frame to the right of center?

In the first picture you can see a light patch bottom left of center, in the second its bottom left especially below the van. The 3rd picture the whole bottom part is much lighter, and the 4th is the same as well.

HMMMM, on second thought, I just scanned a new roll of film and there seems to be the same bright streak but this time its in the middle. Now i think it could be from the C41 processing. What could it be caused by though, can anyone fathom?

In the 4th picture I don't see the slightly diffuse lighter area that you see in the other pics. If this is what you mean it could be flare of sunlight directly hitting the lens. The sun comes from up front. That could cause it if you didn't use a hood. Otherwise, it might be light leakage caused by light leakage over the shutter curtain?

have a look at the neg especially for the last posted picture and see if the lighter( ie darker) patch is there on the neg. I don't think it's a camera leak, maybe processing or maybe light bleeding through the film holder in the scanner?

Huubl, you could be right about the hood as I wasn't using one that day. I think that could be the reason why this is happening, i forgot about this factor.

Nobbylon, there is a darker stripe across the negative. I suspect its from not using the hood.

I use a summilux pre-asph and sometimes i leave the hood off.
