Post examples of Mamiya Super 23 with 65mm

I just got a my Mamiya Super 23 recently and I am looking for some example photos that were shot with the 65mm 6.3. I was reading online that its hard to compose with the external finder with glasses I shot some photos of my little cousins today and would love to see some shots as well as some comments on the lens and if it is hard to compose with glasses.

I have the 65mm 6.3, 100mm 3.5, and the 150mm 5.6 as well as 2 6x9 backs.

I generally like shooting wide so any comments are appreciated.

I'll try to scan something later this eventing or tomorrow. I don't wear glasses so I can't tell you how that would work out. The 65mm lens is fun to use. I loved it when I got it as I too prefer wide. Unfortunately mine is on the blink with a bad shutter. You need to start saving for the 50mm lens now. You will really love it.
 
Out of luck with me also. I have just about completed my "flattop" to use my 65mm on (also have a Universal.) Unfortunately, at the moment I don't have a darkroom set up - my next project. The 65mm lens is my favorite by far.

I have the 50, 65, and 100/3.5 lenses.

Has a lot of modified Mamiya Press cameras, and how to mod them. This is where I first saw a Mamiya Universal Flat Top, which I did. There are a lot of other interesting variations, plus some using other MF and LF cameras.

However, the page I linked to shows the coverage of the 50, 65, and 75mm lenses on 6X12. I have used the 75 with minor vignetting set for infinity on 4X5.

Here are a couple of pics of my homemade Mamiya mount, linhof 4X5 back camera.

Sorry I haven't directly answered your question, but the 65mm lens is a great lens with good coverage on it's intended 6X9 format. I have two of the 75mm lenses and use them now. I can use a 6X12 back on my custom camera for short panorama.

I am currently looking for the grip for my Mamiya Super 23. So far loving this camera.
 
I'll bet so. I can't imagine using the 23 without one. Sorry I still haven't done any scans. My work load suddenly got increased and my daughter is getting married next weekend. My life is a little hectic right now. I am lucky to get in to make sporadic posts. How are you making out with photographing yourself? I have 6x7 backs except with cut film. I sort of prefer that format, but sometimes 6x9 is fun to use also. I have found that out with my Zeiss Ikon non-RF. I haven't found much use for my 150mm or even the 250mm f/5. That thing requires an artillery carraige to carry. :D
 
The images are looking good I need to shoot with my 65mm more but other than that all is good. Congratulations on the marriage of your daughter, hope you get some good shots!

I would love to find a S shape 6x7 back for this camera just from the size and more exposures per roll.

Do you know anything about the 65mm maybe being out of sync with the RF? or
The 100mm focusing being a little sticky?
 
That's a cool picture, I like the background being blurred just a bit.

Did you use the external viewfinder? Do you have to compensate badly for parallax?
 
Nice photo. The 65 nor any other lens should not be out of sync. And if they were, it should be less noticable with the 65, it being wide. If the focus on the 100mm is sticky, that sounds like a lubricant issue. As long as you don't hear grinding or suspect it is doing damage, I would just work with it. On mine, the shutter is getting sticky. There is a guy who sells lens repair manuals for those lenses if you feel up to it. One of these days I may try it or send it out.
 
I have been trying to work it through. I just ran a roll through with the 65 and its ok... I just missed focus on the stuff I shot with it before. I am about to go shoot with it again and see what I can do with it. I would love to see some of your work oftheherd. Link me?

Also the viewfinder needs masks as well. They pop up on ebay from time to time. The back masks much less frequently.

Tony Sansone in Florida (everything Mamiya Press and Polaroid 600SE - wise) sold me a new set of masks for the 6x6, 6x4.5, 6X9 multiformat back a couple of years ago. NOS.

You can reach Tony through his family Virgin Oil site. He has pages there for Mamiya stuff. He has been a Mam/Pola expert for many years. First saw him in the classifieds of the old newsrag Shutterbug.

The family Olive Oil biz is Kreta Reserve Virgin Olive Oil.

The new masks were very reasonably priced... much less than attempting a DIY, although they are pretty simple masks.

By the way, if you are a Virgin Olive Oil afficionado, I don't think you can beat his Kreta Reserve product.
