The Oly OMs get a lot of love around here. I suggested a thread dedicated to the glory of the OM system by posting your latest and greatest OM photos.
I shot two rolls through the OM1n I bought last weekend. The first was a roll of Arista Premium 100 that I developed in Rodinal 1:50 (an experiment, I like it in 76 better). These are just a series of shapes that struck me on a walk in Orange CA. A place I go when I can't think of what to shoot.
Still not finished the roll, I came home and took a few snaps of my lovely fiance. I shot one frame wiiiiiiiiide open to see the results. I liked how I managed to get her big eyes in focus.
Yesterday I decided to shoot some color with Ektar! I went a botanical garden north of San Diego (wedding site scouting) and shot some pretty flowers. I went to CVS to process the negs this morning - an extremely dangerous thing to do, I know, but no reputable photo shop is open here on Sunday. I got the negs in 20 minutes, and started scanning over an hour later once I cleaned off the waterspots and fingerprints.

I especially like the Arista shots, and yor fiancée is lovley indeed. Yesterday I snot some FP4+ during an excursion to historic Amherstburg, Ontario, and I was able to get up close to a couple of amateur boxing bouts, of all things! I shot an OM1n with Zuiko 28/2.8. When I get back home this week I will process a this and a backlog of other films as well.

I love the OM system, it was my gateway drug as a photographer, led me to medium format, digital, having a darkroom, going to art school..... It all started for me with my dad's OM-G (OM-20 outside the USA) and 50mm f1.8 Zuiko when I was 8 or 9 yrs old. Almost all of my 35mm work for the last 15 yrs has been done with an OM-4T and the collection of Zuikos that I have gotten over the years.
28/2.8 Zuiko, Tmax 3200 at EI 1600. Rodeo de Santa Fe Carnival
35/2 Zuiko Ilford Pan F+. Antiwar protest in Santa Fe
100/2.8 Zuiko, Tmax 400. My son in 2007.
50/1.8 Zuiko, Tmax 3200 at EI 1600. Mary Mora, age 91, at her bar in Cerillos, New Mexico.

Chris, "Cold Beer", "Dont Vote", and "Grandpa 2004" are all amazing, and all make the respective lenses used seem that much cooler when great photos are taken with them.
Till now, I just have not felt like I was able to achieve much magic with my zuikos. I have the 50mm 1.8 and 1.4, and now the 24 2.8. Maybe I need the 50 and 35 F2s, or maybe I just need to get better at photography.

nice pictures all.
Chris you got some character going there, i wanted to ask though, what is that black pixulated type thing in the OOF area of the pic of your grandad, not from the lens obviously--PS? scanner? other?
big lump of a cat too![]()
You mean the big square thing on the top of the sofa on the right side of the photo? That's a pillow, it isn't pixellated, the pattern in the plaid on the pillow.

Thanks! I use the 50/1.4, 35/2 and 85/2 for most of my work. They're not magic, they're just focal lengths that work for the kind of things I shoot. I have 24, 28, 35, 40, 50, 50 macro, 85, 100, and 135mm lenses. Most are rarely used. I will say that I dislike my 50/1.8 because its out of focus rendering is so jarring. The f1.4 version is much nicer.
Worst case scenario with 50/1,8 Zuiko:

Yeah, her button says "F--k War" LOL
The 50/1.8 is VERY sharp so if everything will be in focus it is an incredible lens:

Great photos everyone. Apparently Olympus OM cameras attract quality photographers. I enjoyed seeing this work.

Fun thread!
Here's a self portrait of me with Arista Premium 400 (Tri-X) in Rodinal. It's a tough thing for me to pin down why I like the Tri-X in Rodinal much more than the Plus-X, these little subtleties in the development make such a difference.

You guys are a bad influence on me! after all the buzz around here over this camera you've got me wanting to replace my now unused FSU collection with an OM-1! just when i was feeling satisfied too!!
