I once entertained the thought of the Monochrom. Then I saw all the blown highlights and realised that film's for life for me. Digital just lacks character :) (running away ducking).

Nah, no need to duck. I embraced digital years ago for he convenience, speed, color accuracy and hi-ISO performance that is really getting insane these days. But the main reason that I use film is indeed the compression of dynamic range film can offer. Which in normal English translates to highlights that are not blown out.

This picture I posted in several threads already, but it is from my latest roll and I am pretty happy with it. Ilford FP4+ in the Yashica Mat 124, developed in Kodak HC-110 solution 'B', scanned with a humble Epson V500.

how sad that this is the best I have to offer from this roll.
tri-x at 800. developed in hc-110, my watch stopped on me while developing and it took a few minutes before I realized it. So I have no idea.
