Commuters on the MV North Head on the Manly to Circular Quay run, Sydney, 1980. The Manly Ferries are an iconic part of Sydney Harbour’s history. Older ferries like the North Head were built in Scotland and sailed to Australia under their own steam. They were converted to diesel in later years. The ferries were double deck and double ended and were designed to cross the occasionally rough passage across Sydney Heads.
Taken on my regular commute with OM1, Zuiko 28mm f/3.5 on Kodachrome 25
#123 Sydney Opera House under construction c.1967 from the Manly ferry. Taken with my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 126 bought with savings from a pharmacy bicycle delivery job after school. The film was Perutz colour slide film, which has significantly degraded over the years, so the best option was to convert to bw.
