Thank you Pan and Lynn. What with spending more time at home these days, I find myself searching through negatives and printing images I hadn't considered before. I went into the darkroom to print from a 6x7 negative and brought a few 35mm as well, (although i have a preference for all larger negatives). In the end I wasn't satisfied with the light in the medium format image, and this was the surprise/gift of the day. The negative captured the delicacy of the early morning cross-light before the heavy shadows of New Mexico midday.
 
Thank you Charles. As you can imagine, an iPhone photo of the print can only give a hint of the tonal range.

Pan, Lenses aside, these are both wonderful photographs; the artistic lines of the body in the upper one and the beautiful open smile in the lower are
just lovely.

However, often on a picture it is not important what really happens, but what the spectator thinks that happens!

It is often a coincidence.

Thanks Larry and Anthony! I had bought the Contax, sent it out for a repair, and just got it back a few days ago after about 6 weeks in the shop. Was too excited to have it back that I had to try it out. So far, it's assuring me that I made a good purchase!
