From a recent trip to Kauai, HI with my beautiful fiancee. Brought along my Xpan + 45mm and a variety of color film stocks. I shot Portra 400/800 and Ektar 100 since it's such a colorful location, but some of the images just looked better converted to black and white...

Most of the photos I have ever seen from an Xpan have just seemed forced, have seemed as if they would have been at least as good, if not better, had they just been taken with a more normal format, but this series is nice. Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much. I’m really trying to use the XPan thoughtfully, and though I shot about 8 rolls (160 frames), I found just a few that captured what I wanted. I think trying to be a more thoughtful editor is my new found discipline, as much as it is attempting to shoot “good” photos. In any case, I very much appreciate the encouragement.

Camera Scan Comparison

And for comparison, a camera scan, Nikon D3300, 40mm, ES-1, IS0100, f/8, flash illumination. Gives an idea of the power of "light clean" on Vuescan. Cropped for desktop image use.
