Great portrait, Vince, but hard to believe it was made with a 35mm lens. Given the shallow depth of field and the perspective it looks more like a 50mm shot.

I don't think it was a 50 (might have been, not sure), being that I was sitting right next to him, and I was likely shooting at f/2 and the look of his left arm/elbow leads me to believe it was a 35. For sure not a 75. This was a while ago so my memory might not be what it used to be -- maybe I should change it to say 'no idea what lens'

Many thanks Godfrey -- I'm going through these old negatives from a project I did in 1995, and I never did anything with that one back then.
Leica M2, Delta 400, some lens or other.

These are from 1995, so more than likely at that time I was using Rodinal 1:50.

Never thought of using Rodinal with delta400. I wasn't very happy with my results with HC110 and eventually I gave up. These look great.

Here again, it's just a guess as that's what I was using back then. I don't believe I was using HC110 or D76 at that time - after more than 27 years my memory is a bit hazy on that detail.

Thanks Erik, i create one layer for the highlights and one layer for the shadows and blend them in GIMP. This usually creates a nice contrast.

Pan, what is GIMP? I´ve never heard from it.
