Bill, did you use any filtration with these shots?
Thinking in terms of color film (like your Kodachrome), I would expect to see such skies and contrast from a polarizer.
I have no idea how this carries over into B&W conversions.

I've only ever used UV protection filters. I did the B&W conversions partly because the color is slightly off in the scans (example below). Kodachrome was my favorite film due to its color depth and durability - it was said it has a 75-year half-life. I'm not exactly sure about that, but my slides have held up very well (I took these in 1991).Bill, did you use any filtration with these shots?
