Great photo of a beautiful airplane!

Some details:
HL7620, currently leased from an unknown owner to Asiana (you can make out the tail and the flag).
Built in Everett, it was originally delivered in September of 1999 to Air New Zealand. It bore a special all black livery for the All Blacks.
In November of 2011 it was delivered to Southern Air in the United States, but only stayed with them until 2012. It’s likely that they are who carried out the refit from a 747-400 to a 747-400(F). Its life as a passenger aircraft was over, the (F) designates it as a freight airline. This isn’t uncommon for 747 aircraft, especially older ones. Many have been converted in this way.
It joined Asiana in June of 2012, and seems to have flown for them continuously since then.
Its current status is fagged as “parked” or “stored” but I honestly cannot verify that. It last flew on the 22nd of June 2023 in a short 2 hour 11 minute flight from Korea (ICN) to Taiwan (TPE).

Thanks so much for posting, it’s a great looking aircraft, and a truly magical photograph.
TPE tells me that it is in C or D check, one of our 747-8 are in D check there, currently.

Also, 747-400BDSF indicates that it was converted by Israeli Aerospace Industries, which means it has lower operational limits than the 747-400BCF, which means it is a boeing converted freighter.

Oh that’s very interesting, thank you!

Plaubel Peco Jr 58mm F5.6 Graflex XL Grandagon PanF D23 Makina 120 Roll Back by Nokton48, on Flickr

Sawed-Off Plaubel Peco Jr 6x9cm View Camera, 58mm f5.6 Graflex XL Grandagon at F16. PanF+ developed in JOBO Uniroller D23 1:1. Omega DII laser aligned 150mm F5.6 Black Rodagon 5x7 Arista RC #2 Dektol 1:2. Liked how the snow covered the table top, focused on the central wheel. The Makina 120 6x9cm Film Back fits the Peco Jr, Makiflexes, and Makinas. So the backs move around on the cameras. I used the Peco Jr Magnifying Hood with swivel and Magnifying Lens, I can shift top and bottom, or left and right, and brightly examine the images. Well enough to see the sharpness on the screen.
