That's quite surreal that photo ... he looks like he's flying and not actually in contact with the ground!

Yes, he flew by, literally 🙂. This was captured in 2006ish at the Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach on the boardwalk around the 2/3 mark of the race. This was the lead runner, a Kenyan I believe, who ended up winning. Going back to your observation, I also noticed when I first saw the print that he doesn’t cast a visible shadow (see the shadows of the posts) - he is so far off the ground that his shadow falls below the lower frame line…That's quite surreal that photo ... he looks like he's flying and not actually in contact with the ground!

From about 1972/73. One of my mother's neighbors. His name was John Malone but he wanted everyone to call him "Uncle John". Nikon F, probably with a 35/2.8 Nikkor.
