Post your foveon DP & SD1m Images

One from today's short outing. Yesterday it was summer, today's winter again. Crazy.

It looks I'm slowly developing a minimalist series.

Hm, now that I think of it - with DP3 I guess I could stitch as well... I usually shoot DP2 as close as it can focus.

Need resolution for big prints ...

Nice shots everyone.

Jon... 880mb.. Man that is gigantic. What did u use to stitch it with? That Pano is more than even usual 3:1 ratio. How big are u going to have it printed to?

Bk1970.. I can c u are influencing others. I am seeing more abstracts lately. Cool.

Some Picts from today in San Mateo. Dp1m.. What is weird is that w/ dp2m I always use the ovf, but for some reason dp1m tend to use the LCD.. Not sure I understand why.

Shot thru the front window as we were walking by this Mediterranean place.

Decided to have some ramen. So we happened into to this place.. Good ramen and better yet they were playing jazz in the background. Lots of locals there.

Hi tensile strength spectra cord ;)

I used PTGUI. Even on my 2009 MBP it wasn't that slow!

There is a very long lateral beam quite low in the living room of my apartment that would be a perfect place to hang a panorama (or two). It's more a question of figuring out the costs and all. But I won't go ahead with any of this until I get a new monitor, calibrate it, and revisit the photo.

Ramen. Excellent choice! First thing I did after getting down from the mountains was to make myself some buckwheat noodles with shredded nori in wasabi dipping sauce. My apartment in Lyon is strategically located just a block away from the vietnamese/chinese markets (which happens to be right by the Rhone); I really couldn't live anywhere else.

As a matter of interest this a crop from the image I posted above. This is at 1600 and I have to say the foveon sensor is much better at this ISO than I expected?

There has been a little noise reduction and sharpening applied via ACDSee Pro 6.

Very interesting pics!

I have to complete my tests with 1600 iso...

Also have to train in using hyperfocal...i´ve been lazy on that...although doing it is simple...:D

:)

Nice to see lots of fantastic new images here!

I had a great time on my hike, and the DP1M + DP3M duo performed like champs! I'll try and make some time over the next couple of days to summarize some user experience, including a card failure on one image in a bracketed set (using a Lexar Pro 32 GB 600x card).

Here is a panorama stitched from 9 photos from the DP3M; final TIFF file size is a whopping 880mb! This uploaded version is highly reduced: pixelation warning, Will Robinson! The detail and colors on the original are breathtaking. Now I'm going to have to start saving up for prints, a new monitor, and, gasp, disk space!

NASA should start placing DPM cameras on all the Mars rovers in the future.
... and stop all that obfuscation nonsense when they show the pictures to the public :)

Evening Blaz ... gorgeous images as usual. I find your style of shooting to be inspirational use of the DPM's rare qualities with colour. :)
