One final one for today. Another from my deep history, taken while travelling in the South Pacific, circa 1990. A candid shot of a young man at the village well on one of the outer islands that populate the ocean between the Solomon Islands and New Guinea.

I remembered some months ago that perhaps even I may have had an affair. I knew I hadn’t but could not shake the feeling of a distraction, some foolish obsession, sometime, somehow. And here she is.

Sisters: The ties that bind us together often begin early. That's why I love this photo.

Wandering around the city during an annual St Augustine Photofest, I came across these two and others in a wedding party.
They were posing for the wedding photographer. I showed the bride and sent a copy to her after the wedding.

Sony Alpha 99 at 135mm.

In my previous post 25 was a photo I took 4 years ago in a special moment during the covid semi lockdown.

Out of curiosity I walked to the same place, a few hundred meters from home a few days ago and took this photo.
Different time of the year of course...slightly different point of view because of cars parked along the road.

M10 again, different lens now: CV 50/1.5 Heliar Classic (a lens I like very much now!).

Here's why I love this picture.....So here I am in the pit happily taking pics....(IIRC 1996) And have a moment when I think about home as Placebo were one of my wife's favourite bands and so I take my phone out and dial home....Wedge the phone in my top pocket so my wife can hear the song while I carry on taking pics.

When I stopped, I checked the phone and the call had ended.

What I didn't know at the time was that whilst I was doing all this and the phone rang at home, my wife was watching it live on TV whilst hearing it down the phone from someone who she was missing....She sobbed all the way through it but went to bed with a smile.

This moment in time means so much to me, the song to her (Lady Of The Flowers) and for a few minutes we were together.
