Thanks, really liking it at the moment and I missed the D100 years ago as my first DSLR was the D200, I've also managed to download some old Fotogenic curves for the WB so at some point will test them, looking forward to the results.Nice shots. Nikon really got great results out of those 6MP sensors.

From several years ago, in the hills above Martinez, CA. Nikon S2, Nikkor-SC 5cm f 1.4, TMax 400:

That vista is familiar from the years when Linn and I drove from Ferndale to Berkeley to visit friends. Here are a few images from the SD Quattro I was shooting then.

Cool looking young couple in front. The older-looking couple in the back (+ maybe a third person in between) look a bit puzzled and don't seem to be admiring the front couple. Super photo!![]()
I was trying to get the couple nearest. But the two in the background made it for me.

I have a large print of this one on A3+ paper and it looks even better than on a computer screen. I just like the subtle lighting and the sense of scale provided by the boats.

This is Jeff and at the time of this photo he's 79 years young. Considered a pest by local authorities he is the oldest person to receive an ASBO (Anti-social Behaviour Order) banning him from roller-blading in public in Ormskirk, my home town. Jeff just went elsewhere. This is him in Liverpool. Jeff is a rebel. I like Jeff.

I will post an old photo here today. Taken in around 2002 it is of my (now) wife on holidays in Bali. Shot with a Nikon D801s and a Nikkor 28-85 AF 3.5 to 4.5. I do not recall the film stock but am pretty sure it was a color photo (converted to monochrome in post after scanning). That means the film could have been almost anything, as film was plentiful and cheap and while I had favoured black and white negative film (mainly Ilford XP-2), with color film I used pretty much what was available as long as it was suited to the intended use (i.e. film speed etc.) It's easy to make a good photo when the subject is this photogenic. By the way, back then we did not think too much about bokeh or its quality. All that mattered to me was that the background was out of focus and that was enough.

I'm begining to like this Olympus E-420 that was from the Christmas Giveaway, had a walk around some shops [Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port] whilst waiting for the car to be serviced yesterday, getting used to its personality so think used in the right way, will only get nicer to use.
