Post your most unloved camera here

It's the awful truth: there are some things not worth committing to a piece of film. 🙂

I use my DSLR like a polaroid in the studio. Now that it's paid for itself, it makes a truly exceptional way of previewing and refining what I want to record to a sheet of film.
Do you use it tethered to a laptop, or do you just use the LCD? I'm intending to use my 300D (the least favourite, naturally) for the same purpose.

If my 300D were sentient, it would be thinking, 'Don't hate me because I'm useful.'

It's no secret I am not fond of 6x6 or 645, so I guess it would have to be the Rolleiflex. And yet, I would never part with it: 6x6, heavy, reversed image, and yet so well made!

All-time bad camera: Minolta 600si. It was free, but a camera full of sand, with a peepy viewfinder and chrunchy autofocus doesn't make me happy. It lasted about two and a half rolls of film before it died. If it hadn't expired I would have had to put it of its misery with an axe or something.

Nikon N6006. Actually it's not a bad camera but it's so loud. I'm always very self-conscious when I shoot with it.

Currently my Nikon F100. For an SLR it looks pretty and did it's job very well when it was new. However, it's ultimately dissapointing because of its design weaknesses. I've broken the molded locking tabs on the film door twice (have to replace the whole door), as well as the shaft that holds the film cartridge in place. Not impressive for a near-pro camera. The F90 was more durable!

Joe.. I've gotta save that poor camera. Just mail it and it'll make you a happier man. I'm sending you a cheque right now... you know you want to be free.

it's not unloved...more like an akward blind date...the hexar af

I'm not in love with my D70s but it's good for what it's good for.

Its name is Grendel because it's a monster, but it can't help what it is.

Not sure there, if it´s the Ricoh GR1s because the 28mm aint good enough at 2,8 (in the corners) or if it is the G2 because of the finder and the sound
Both give good photos but is acquired taste some how . .

Good question.

QL17 GIII, Oly 35RC - too awkward to handle.

Minolta Prod 20's - partially because of the silly name, but also because it proved to be a dog of a camera (at least in my case).

The Hexar RF may not be easy to love at first sight but dressed up in the 50/2 Hexanon, with a new leather case, a silky Artisan&Artists strap, well, let's just say it gets a lot of attention around here.

Pentax LX (working great, though...)

I have to agree, but I just don't know why. Beautifully made, good results ---but--- we just didn't get on with each other. But not my worst by a loooooong way that has to be
the Folding Fujica (Professional) 645. A total disaster of a camera, great idea Fuji, but very poorly executed. In five years shutter/wind failed four times, bellows fell to bits, plastic body developed a stress crack and leaked light.
Best for land fill where I believe it now is!!!! I traded it in, camera shop manager said they named it Johah!!

Ooh, I've got a story... I was looking for an inexpensive, compact MF camera to take in abandoned mines. The Mamiya TLR is too bulky and impossible to focus by a flashlight... So I bought a GS645S, my first real rangefinder. Well, it worked for the project, and still hasn't broken from the abuse!
Guess what, it's now the camera I reach for 80 percent of the time. Who would have thought?

For what it is worth I use a laser pointer to focus in darkness. (just don't use it on people). When the red dot is smallest it is in focus, it is very visible on the focus screen.

My least loved camera is the Konica Auto S2. I just don't like the ergonomics of it.

"Grendel?" LOL! I like that! Think I'll name mine Beowulf! 😀

yeah....im gona have to say my 20D. Its ugly as cameras get and loud as a gun. Even though I use it a lot and its made me some money I still have the nagging thought in the back of my head of wanting to sell it and all my canon stuff for leica

I guess I am weird one where I still use my Nikon DSLR (D50, unsung hero of the Nikon line) as much as my other cameras ... I have learned to take its strengths and love them ....

but my least loved camera and it pains me to say this is ... it was passed down to me when my grandfather died ... a Minolta X-370

One of the smallest SLRs I have ever laid my hands upon, a super sharp Rokkor-X 50mm 1.7 and a 135mm 2.8, but it just does find its way into my life all that much at this point

and what pains me is that I took my first excellent picture with it

I'll post two, the portrait is with the D50 and the turntable with the X-370

it is an unfortunate and heavy mish-mash of ugly planes, wrong angles and akward dimensions, all finished of in striking olive-grayish black-brown, last used on the Soviet T34 tank and dull blackish-grey rubber. The lens is the Canon 1.8/50, which is easily confused with a can of tar.
But actually, the ergonomics are brilliant, it handles great and is indestructible and the lens is one of the best 50 mm's on the market. An ideal camera to have in adverse conditions using program exposure that never fails and spot-on AF.

Sounds more like the camera you love to hate.

For me its a Fuji S5500, the viewfinder is all over the show and the power cuts out without warning.
