Post your most unloved camera here

I guess that would be my Sigma SA-7n SLR. It does what it does very well in a workman-like fashion... with little soul or panache. I'm also not happy with the way the 50mm lens chewed up its own focus limit stop when I was playing with it in macro mode. Very irritating.

Contessa 35.

It's slow and finicky to use and it's just not a great user - it's not a bad performer, but it's not extraordinary and it would have to be to make its quirks worth enduring.

Looks great on a shelf and that's where it stays.

EOS 300D.

Nowadays, I break it out for all the photography I don't really care about. 🙂
It's not a "pretty" camera, and doesn't have the best features, but I've taken some pretty nice shots with it, where anything else other than my Leica M6 or Kiev 3 would have caught too much attention when releasing the shutter.

Now, I do have to agree, the Bessa R2 and me is a very odd relationship. It is a good camera; nice heft. I'm just used to the smoothness of my Leicas, Kiev, Contax. The shutter noise bothers me, the @#!*#& shutter dial does not stop at B or 1/2000, and the light meter does some odd faux readings when jumping between the two (it is the design, not the camera). If those two things were fixed, it'd be a super beauty.

I'm even considering selling it...but I...like it...but I don't...but I do...

Contax III

Contax III

I know, it's almost irreverent to say such a thing about such a classic RF, but the Contax III that I used to own was my most irritating camera ever.

What was especially frustrating was that 99.9% of it worked quite well for me. But the remaining 0.1% was literally a pain! It was that dratted little screw head that sticks out near the self-timer lever; this tiny but infuriating protrusion never failed to dig into the tender ball of my pinkie finger severely enough to cause me to lose my concentration within seconds!

If you're a guitarist or violinist with heavily-callused fingertips, it might well be the ideal camera for you, but I just couldn't deal with it. Even the foul-smelling Fed 5c I briefly owned wasn't as annoying -- there was plenty of bad stuff on the Fed (not the least the weird stench it had picked up from its leather case, and which never completely dissipated) but at least it was distributed around the camera to achieve an overall level of moderate irritation, rather than the Contax system of concentrating all its evil-ness into one tiny, supremely annoying point!
