Well, it is about time since the Leica M portrait thread is doing fine. So, how about posting your portraits using your Nikon Rangefinder?

GORGEOUS Shot Dave... She's Lovely !!
which lens May I Ask ?

I just got a nikkor Tokyo Screwmount 50 1.4 / close Focus
Will this only close Focus on a Nikon Body
as opposed to a Leica M ?

Hi, Helen...

This was done with my S3 2000 and 50mm lens...sharpest I have ever seen!:)

This next portrait was also with the S3 2000:

As to the lens you have, I will look into that, maybe Jonmanjiro can chime in as he is the lens guru I always go to!;)

Helen. the 50f1.4 will focus close on any M/screw-mount body - but the rangefinder coupling "de couples" at roughly 0.7 meter. You can guestimate it - or use a tape measure for even closer focus accuracy.

Tom, what does it take to get the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 to mount on an M body? An adaptor?

Welcome to the club, Helen. My favorite Sonnar.

The LTM NKT decouples at about 1m. To get to 0.7m coupled min. focus, it has to be modified, as shown here:

And for good measure two Nikkor portraits taken with a Leica, hope that counts, Dave:

Just waiting for the mail to bring me the LTM 28/3.5 ... finally ... cann't wait.

Beautiful Creamy DOF in that first shot....
She is a Wonderful Character for a Portrait and Spot on Sharp...Lovely

Thank You Roland !

Helen,

Beware, it can be addictive to be able to focus, fire and advance with your right hand. The 1:1 finder, easy loading, just beware.

These three are street portraits, all made with a vintage S3 and Nikkor 105 2.5 on Fuji Sensia, Provia or Velvia 100 ISO colour slide.

Nice photos so far!

Now, is it true that Nikon RF users don't use them much because they are just collectors? If it is not true, how about posting some portraits?;)

The percentage of Nikon RF collectors to users is probably similar to the percentage of Leica collectors to users, but the number of Nikon RF users/collectors is definitely way less, so I doubt this thread is ever going to get as may posts as your similar and very popular thread for Leica M does, Dave :p

But I'll do my bit and add a few more pics ;)

These two were taken with a Nikkor-O 2.1cm 1:4 on an SP 2005.

This guy should look familiar because he makes an appearance earlier in this thread ;) The shot was taken with a W-Nikkor 3.5cm 1:2.5 on an R-D1.

When I go to MAP Camera I never see such beautiful young ladies...

Just a snobby sales assistant who looks down his nose at me when I ask if the price is negotiable...

Ha, ha, thanks, Jon...of course you are correct. As a cheerleader for Nikon RF's, I challenge every owner to post images to share with us all. A lot of people may be timid about posting, but the truth is, we all enjoy all of the photographs when posted! We also learn about the different results from the various lenses, bodies, etc. Thanks for posting!

BTW, I agree about your models...;)...but am jealous of all the gear and film in the camera store, it is amazing!
