I took some photos of my family this morning and also last weekend. It seems that weekends are the only days during which I have the chance to do some photography.

Here are a few photos taken with a Konica s2 set on Auto (after I got the battery) with a Kodak Portra 160 film.

I've just one photo to show from my weekend so far. Also of my family, well my little daughter who has just learned to remove her feet from the bottom bar.

By the way, Raid, I love the way your photos look. I don't really shoot colour, and if I did I might not choose the film you do and so on, but I really enjoy seeing your photos with that appearance.

Actually, I have absolutely no experience to answer that question. All I know is that yours have "a look" which is unusual. Perhaps in combination with the seaside locations.

I think the last colour film I ever used was some sort of Kodak gold back in the mid 1990s.

Raid, the overall skin tones are great with the Portra...however, I do see some green tones, especially in the closeup in the eye areas. Don't know if that is a reflection from the green grass or not.

Compositionally, VERY nice. I think that I agree that there is an unusual look about your imagery. Part of it stems from the fact that your compositions have a good depth to them. This has especially been apparent in your wider view beach shots. The "layers" of people in the shots tend to give a sense of perspective and depth.

ALL the kids in yours and in Wintold's imagery as cute as bugs ears!

Nice pictures!

I'll join the family theme! And yes, the new Summicron 50 got a bit splashed but everyone had fun...

Matti, that little tyke is something else! Actually, the whole image sparkles. I love the "fending off" by the adult in the image.

The overall tonality is really something here. I know it's hard to get a true feel for images on the web, but there's a certain sort of "luscious detail" inherent in that Summicron. This is a well-balanced black and white image. Nice one.

Not exactly this weekend, but a few weekends ago. Finishing the roll, developing, scanning and postprocessing usually takes me a few weeks.

Why is there so much fog and what did you focus on with the lens?

It is a shot of plant leaves against a frosted glass window. I quite like it, though it needs some Photoshop work. It is one of those arty photos you mentioned 🙂

Thanks,
Yes, He is quite a savage, really...
I have just had my Summicron 50 for a qouple of weeks, but I love it already. But I credit the efke 100 + pyrocat-hd for the midtones.
