I hope this is the correct place to post this question. I've uploaded a couple images but they only show up as thumbnails in the post; not full size. Since other images display full size it must be possible but I can't figure it out. Help...

If you upload the photo to RFF, it shows in your post as a thumbnail. If someone clicks the thumbnail it shows up fullsize.

If you already have the photo online somewhere, like your own blog or website, then you can add the photo to an RFF post by clicking the picture button above the area where you type and then typing or pasting in the address of the image from the other website where it is already online.

It can be a bit fiddly and relies on you having the image posted somewhere else on the internet (say a photo hosting site like Flickr or Photo Bucket.) You have to get the photo's URL (in Flickr this can be done by enlarging the image and then right clicking on the open image to open a dialogue box. One entry will be 'image properties' and this will show a URL (an internet address.)

Highlight the address and copy it into your PC.

Go to the Rangefinder Forum message entry box and immediately above it you will see a row of little boxes with things in it to format text etc. Go to the 5th one from the right - the one that looks like a little sun rising above some hills and click that. It will bring up another box. Enter the URL you captured in that box by pasting and click on it to close. If you have done it correctly that will allow the image to show up in whatever size you have saved it on the other site.

All of this sounds fiddly as I said but its much easier and quicker to do than it is to describe.

You mean like this...

Thanks for the tip. I would have figured it out eventually--feel kinda dumb, actually :bang:, since I frequent a couple of other vbulletin driven forums and have used the "insert photo" icon before. I was using the "Manage Attachments" routine without success.

Incidentally, the photo was taken with my Digilux 2 while on my way into Vancouver on the Skytrain. I thought the complete lack of connection between the three people in the shot was a telling indicator of the way a lot of our society is today...

Rather than hitting the image button, I've always found it easier and quicker to just manually type out the IMG tags.
