We just did a whistle stop tour of Prague, Vienna and Budapest. We only had about 36hrs in each place before moving to the next so there was a lot of walking and some trains, subways etc... tiring but very interesting to be able to compare the countries with each other and of course we'd like to go back and see them in more detail. In each city we had an organised tour which was a good way to get around although some were better then others. Some were largely based on a bus so taking pictures was difficult although we appreciated not having to walk for a bit.

Excellent photos! Lovely to see such results from a CCD sensor. The black and whites in particular stand out.

My thoughts also. Compliments for the model in first and third pic as well

what?
You did a very nice job distinctly post-processing each image.

Thanks for the comments. Yes I normally use black and white but sometimes the colours and textures just scream for colour. I'm so used to my R-D1 now that I don't think about it any more - image quality etc are a given, and issues are because I've done something wrong. That happens often.

Nice sense of place. Or senses of places. Not my favourite cities (Prague easily the leader) but you have captured the best, or at least a good deal of the best, of all three.
Cheers,

Thanks again chaps - I did toy with having no.2 in B+W but the ropes(?) on the puppets are easier to make out in colour, plus one of the things that drew me into the shop was the warm light inside as the sun was beginning to set.
I hear you can do a Trabant tour of many European ex Soviet bloc countries. Reckon that would be fun, especially if you expect it to be a walking tour!

Thanks, yes I think Prague was our fave because we wanted to explore back streets and so forth - Vienna would have been better if we were there for a concert or something and had money to spend on the museums etc. Budapest was a really interesting mixture of European, Soviet and Turkish culture. I'd like to go back to Hungary perhaps somewhere less touristy.

Nice collection! My girlfriend just did a whirlwind Berlin, Prague, Vienna run this week. I'll have to show her this thread.
