Anyone from Prague? Going to be there for a few days from September 1st - wondered whether there were any cool bars / things to see / camera shops / Foma wholesaler ;-).

I'm not from Prague, but I was there a few months ago. PhotoSkoda is their largest camera store, sort of like B&H. I would look for film there. I am sure some others will chime in. If you are interested, I have a write-up of our trip on my blog - scroll all the way down and read upwards!

Bring plenty of film. Prague is a great place. I am sure you will have a good time.

What a silly non-searcher I am. Thanks for the links.

And, darkavenger, if I am sober and you are free - I'll buy you a pint.

we should definitely meet 🙂 all these places I haunt regularly, they have nice stuff currently at FotoSkoda 🙂 I'll buy you a pint too, and if have the time we can do a little shooting session. 🙂

*is fighting a hangover*
got a french friend who lived here who came here for 3 weeks, things started well already ---> got straight to bed when I got home, 10 hours of sleep later i'm feeling a bit better 🙂

i believe it was way better in 1991 than it is now. The beer is fantastic, but it has become a tourist haven, not one of these quiet places haunted by locals and with the "cachet" of being in an authentic place. I recommend you rather to go to the pub called "U Hrocha", if you come I'll bring you there. It's near the UK embassy. There are so many pubs in Prague, I tried once to count how many pubs from one place (distant about 3km from home) to home, and I stopped counting after 50 ...

Hope you don't go to Prague for the just the beer.
Sure it's excellent, but Prague has so much architecture, culture and galleries to offer, no European city comes even close to what Prague will show you.

If you were there in 1968 then you've been living the history of this moment, and then you could've met a bunch of interesting "locals" there 😉

There's a pub called the Zlaty Tygr (Golden Tiger) but I've never been there. I'll have to spot it...

I've been to Prague 4 months ago or so.Got the images in my (photo.net) gallery(link in my signature). Dont miss on Jan Padzera's shop.
When I visited Praguie there was a Josef Saudek exhibition(very close to the Jan Hus monument) which kicked major ass - but it's not very polliticly correct so be warned. I also enjoyed 3 good classical concerts and an ok Rigolleto.
