I took a pretty nasty tumble yesterday, when a peddle broke of my bicycle and I was smacked onto the cobbles. Luckily my body cushioned the fall of my over-the-shoulder bag holding my Praktica MTL-50.
Got a sore knee, a bruise on my chest from the handlebars and the palm of my left hand lost some skin.

The Praktica appears to be okay, but there's a small triangular shape on the left side in the viewfinder. I can't remember if that was in it before.
After unscrewing the lens I can see it's a small metal clip that appears to be holding the frosted glass under the prism in place.
Is this a normal part of the camera or has something shaken loose?

Regards,

AFAIK, that triangle shows that the shutter is not cocked.
Does it disappear after you cock the shutter?

Good that nothing serious happened to you, though.

Cheers,
Uwe

D'oh! You're probably right. I'll check when I get home later today. I guess that's what you get for ignoring your SLR for a few months.

The knee is doing a little better this afternoon. Driving to work was slightly uncomfortable.
The bicycle was an 30-year old hand-me-down from an uncle. Now I finally got an excuse to buy a proper one. ;)

Regards,

Rick

p.s. I went for a walk earlier Sunday morning with this camera (loaded with 25ASA Adox film and I-61 lens) and hopefully got some nice pictures of the local park and forest.

Yeah, false alarm. Nothing wrong with the camera.

Can't say the same for the bicycle though ;)
