Pre 1960 lens chart to show year of manufacture

I've seen many many charts that show Canon lens year of manufacture, most are carbon copies of each other but all are from 1960 to present. I need a chart that is pre-1960.

I've Googled till my fingers bleed but to no avail, I've been to the "Canon Camera/Lens Museum" and got a rough idea when my lens was made but I want to nail it down, plus just good reference to bookmark

I suggest you pick up a copy of Peter Kitchingman's book on Canon rangefinder lenses. There is no better reference on these lenses.

I've looked, his site is down, no Amazon, no eBay, Google basically has no leads. Is there a chart as I originally requested?

There’s production data for each lens as well as each lens variation. You’re not going to find anything better than what is in this book. I suggest you contact Peter K. directly as to where to buy a copy.

with all due respect, I can't buy the book, I was hoping someone on here could point me to a site that had basic info on Canon lenses pre 1960 or maybe even look it up in their book. It's a 50mm 1:1.8 with the black focus ring, serial #328413

You have a Type 7 50/1.8. Serial number range is from 292XXX to 344XXX. Production was from January, 1961 to December, 1970. Based on your serial number, I’m guessing your lens was built in the late 1960’s. Hope this helps.
