Pre-Orders pulled?

Did anyone else notice that Amazon pulled their pre-orders on the X-Pro 1 today?

Is this just because they have taken orders on all the stock they've been guaranteed by Fuji? Or are we to assume the ship date (still unknown to us) has been pushed back again, or delayed?

Orders have been sent to Fuji and they most likely know their allocations...

I'd guess that too, that they were guaranteed a certain amount of pre-order stock and it is now used up.

I went back and forth on it, and ultimately didn't go for it. I need to see some real reviews first.

And, on another note, what about those folks who pre-ordered the NEX-y almost 6 months ago and are still waiting? THis Fuji thing could drag on...

cancelled my pre-order for the Nex7 on Amazon when the D800 was announced. This new Fuji is of no interest to me because there is no 35mm equivalent lens.

I read on their release that a 35mm equivalent is in the pipeline for next year.

Even on Jan 31st, the day it was announced, it flipped a couple times between available for preorder and the screen you see today on Amazon. I ended up ordering from Adorama that day, instead. Still waiting to hear on a ship date in the States. I called Adorama to see if they knew a timeframe. They didnt know but said there were 237 of the cameras on preorder.

Out of everything else they could have dropped, they chose to skip 35mm. Unwise, in my view.

They plan to come out with a 35mm equivalent, a 23/2.

I feel everything is a 35mm equivalent these days so I was happy to get the 50mm equivalent:

• Leica X1 - Fixed 35mm equivalent
• Fuji X100 - Fixed 35mm equivalnet
• Zeiss's 24/1.8 lens for the Sony nex - one of only two fixed lens for NEX (along with 16/2.8 Sony)
• The Olympus digital Pen was released with either a kit zoom or a 17/2.8 (35mm equivalent)

Honestly, I want a 35mm lens for the camera too. However, I knew they wouldn't release one for awhile. A three lens line-up of 28/50/90 makes sense at launch too.

28/50/90 -> classic, of course, and a nice travel setup.

although I prefer 35/75 for travelling myself 🙂

Agreed that it was wise on Fuji's part...otherwise they would effectively kill the X100 off, and as far as I can tell it's still going strong.

I'm in the "waiting for a Nex 7" boat, it's really frustrating... I wonder if Fuji announced release of the X-Pro1 too early, just to capitalize on Sony's problems without thinking about the ability to back those orders. It's become a war of the pre-orders between those two and the OMD

Why would it be too early for the X-Pro1? Fuji is not alone in not being able to meet pre-order demand.

what I mean by "too early" is promising camera stores and web-sites X number of units, then not being able to provide that many, causing them to pull pre-orders.
