Beautiful glass Erik. I think I'll shoot with mine for the next month
& then send it off for cleaning.

Thank you, Deardorff, it was a lot of work but I'm very happy with the results.
Your guitar shot is very nice, btw.
Cleaned my nickel Elmar 35mm f/3.5 too and shot this with the lens on my M2. (full aperture)

I really need to clean (or have cleaned) the haze out of both my 35mm Elmar and the 28mm Hektor one of these days.
Nice Summar shots too, Erik.

While I looove the Heliar for sharp shots whenever I want them, the nickel Elmar has such pleasing contrast. But maybe that's just me testifying I'm turning into an old fart with a romantic inclination...

It is not difficult to get the Elmar 35mm apart, but to put it back again is demanding. The two small set screws of the helical ...
When you have the right flexiclamps (available from Nobbysparrow) the cleaning of the elements is easy.
Nobbysparrow wrote a great manual to clean the lenses. Recommended! Available in his webshop.
Here some shots with the Elmar 35mm nickel uncoated on my Leica MP. I've mounted an f/stop setting ring from Leitz for an enlarger (nickel too) so it was possible to alter the f/stop by looking at the diode of the lightmeter.
The shot at Hotel New York in Rotterdam was at full aperture.

I've had that manual on my watchlist for a while now. Been meaning to buy it, but this month has been rather demanding on my Credit Card (Putting together a US Army KF-3 16mm movie camera set, with tripod, motor drive, etc etc)

Rick, The 5cm f2.5 Hektor provides a beautiful atmospheric image of Rudyard Kipling's home, a lovely reminder of a bygone age, never to return unfortunately.

Unfortunately the Double-X was over-developed on that roll by about a minute, burning out the high-lights.
As it happens, I will be back at Bateman's House this weekend. Hoping to shoot some more nice images of the house, the garden and the living historians with a few period cameras.
Some photos from Bateman's World War 1 Weekend 2016 taken with various cameras.
The Hektor is definitely one of my favorite 5cm lenses (competing for attention with the Xenon/Summarit).

Erik, I caved and bought both the manual and 22mm clamp.

Good! The 22 is essential; Nobu sent me the 22 in steel, while the other clamps are in aluminium. However, you'll allways need two clamps to get the elements free, but maybe you have the others already.
Great shot this one with the Hektor.

The best is to get the manual first to see what you need. In the end I had almost all the clamps, but all ordered separately. So if you have all the lenses that are discribed in the manual you better order all the clamps at the same time. Sooner or later you'll need them.
Summars are hard to clean, but mine is clean enough.
