Precautions for using Kiev 4A

Congratulations on a successful venture. .. and on your first roll.
Well done... You have an excellent "eye".
My Early 4a and my Kiev II remain among my favorite cameras and have functioned faultlessly fro more than 15 years. :D

Congratulations -- fine test roll! Re what fotohuis said: I find the Contax grip much easier when I use the focus wheel with the normal lens, but that's just me.

Careful!

Plan ahead, buy the turret view finder and then get all the lenses to go with it. Buying a lens and VF one by one can cause chaos...

Regards, David

A random protip, already somewhat mentioned above: you can disable the infinity focus lock if you find it annoying by putting a tiny piece of paper below that little knob under the Kiev logo. I did this years ago and the same piece of paper is still there holding it nicely.

And of course, enjoy your Kiev. It's truly an awesome camera once you do some CLA. It will outlast every piece of photography gear I ever owned so far, for sure.
