Precision Camera works

Hey all,

Need my Mamiya 6 realigned with my two lenses and I got the name of this shop from this forum (Precision Camera works). I am a bit hesitant sending my body and 2 lenses to a shop I cannot physically visit in case something goes wrong; I do not live in CA. Anybody sent their camera there and had a good experience? Appreciate the comments.

They are solid, go for it.

I had my Mamiya 6 overhauled there a few years ago. It was not cheap but the work done right is what I needed and got.

I'm sure others will chime in and say they are solid too.

I've had a Mamiya 7II serviced with them, came back perfect. Needed the shutter release magnet replaced, and calibrated the RF and my 80 and 150 to match. Excellent work - a bit pricey, but I wouldn't consider or suggest anyone else for these Mamiyas.

they did my 6 about 2 years ago. could not have been happier with the work and the communication.

My Mamiya 6 had an issue with the magnet that unlocks the advance so I sent it with the three lenses over for an overhaul (they only do overhauls). The service was timely (about 2 weeks) and communication was good. Would recommend.

PS: When I used them a couple years ago, they were in Illinois. It’s cool to hear they’ve since moved nearby me, but I don’t really expect to need them again soon. 🙂

Careful to get the right "Precision Camera", as there are at least three, two of which do camera repairs.

There’s a Precision Camera in Austin TX that is apparently a retail store, which does film processing and printing.

There’s a Precision Camera in Enfield CT that does repairs for Pentax, Konica etc

And, there’s the Precision Camera Works in Fairfield CA that repairs Mamiya and others, and relocated there from Skokie IL this year.

As far as I know, Precision Camera in Austin TX also do camera repair work. They did work on an M4 for me a few years back. They are very good.

Whenever I had to drive from Fort Worth, Texas to Austin Texas, I would stop by Precision Camera to shop.

Precision Camera in Austin TX gets my vote of confidence.
