Hello. This is my first post here. :)

Short question: how much a user SP or S3 in good shape could cost nowadays in Japan, preferably in one of the big Giza shops like Fujiya Camera?

Long version of the same question: I'm in Nikon RF cameras for a year or so. I live in Europe, where they are rarer and more expensive than in USA or Japan. Normally I buy gear online from the US and I pay as 'extras' the shipping costs plus about 15-20% of import duties. Presently it is still a good idea with the dollar so low vs. euro. A friend of mine is going for few days to Japan in 3 weeks and I was wondering of asking him to buy me some Nikon RF gear. He knows nothing about cameras, I should give him very precise instructions of where and what to buy and I should give him cash. It should be a pocketable item (no boxes and the so) so that he can put it in his hand luggage. Given the circumstances, I can not ask him to buy something too rare or really expensive. I narrowed it down to a Nikon SP or a S3, without lens, possibly from one of the big shops in Tokyo. I would need to know tentative prices of those cameras in Japan, to ponder the price advantage with my usual way of acquiring gear from US. Could any of you please help me with that?

If there is no clear price advantage I prefer to save the trouble to my friend and potential risks to me should he buy something wrong. I found links to recommended shops in other threads in this forum, but I do not find my way through them in Japanese.

Thanks,

Arturo

Welcome on RF Forum Arturo.

Fatti vivo stefcuoz@tin.it di dove sei???

Ciao
Stefano.
