I never thought I'd need to do this but I need help putting a dollar value to my Chrome, Color Skopar 28mm 3.5 ltm and the chrome metal 28 round viewfinder that I use with it.

I may need to part with these and my IIIC and even though I looked first to e*ay and elsewhere on the web, I can't find a current value of this chrome lens and no mention of this particular viewfinder.


Both are in very good to excellent condition, with no fungus, etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

US 400 and up for the lens. The mini-finder is desired and discontinued, price can go easily 200 and up.

Thanks for the feedback ferider. I edited my original post to note the correct viewfinder, which is marked 28mm, with no mention of 35mm. It is a 'full sized' instrument, not a mini.

The full one can still be bought new (US 189 at Adorama). So you can go from there and reduce it by a bit ....

The last finder went for $127.53 on ebay. The lens is on ebay right now for $449-$479 buy-it-now with no buyers. They are commonly sold on here for $400-450. Silver is no more rare than the black with this lens and they sell for around the same price in the used market.

I wasn't quite sure about any price advantage the black lens held over the chrome, or vice versa, but some folks are funny over such things.

I guess I should pay more attention to the cost of things, but once I've gotten the lens or whatever kit I'm interested in using, I generally don't give it another thought, hence the need for outside advice.
