I've changed my mind about starting with a Oly 35RD and will now probably get myself a R or RxA, as they simply offer much more camera.
Next April the R4x is comming out, they are too expensive, but can be a price drop expected for R2A and R3As? Would it be realistic to get a RxA at around 300$ mid 07?

I did not track the degree of decline in R prices over the years, but I suspect the big drop came with the introduction of the R2, which had the same viewfinder magnification, better build and M mount.

I suspect that since the R4 is not a replacement to the R2a/m, the prices of the latter won't drop much. The R3 did not drive R2 prices down, so the R4 should not either. While tehre are smaller differences, the choice between 2, 3, and 4 will be mainly driven by what focal lenghts the user prefers.

The R4 isn't an upgrade. It's a different camera.

Exactly, its a complement to the R2a/m and R3a/m

Anyways, I don't think you'll see any of those cameras selling anywhere in the $300 range unless its really beat up. If you want an RXA, just go for it now, you won't see any price drops because of this introduction of the R4X.
