Hi. I have a collapsible Summicron 50/2 that I'm planning on selling. The front element has cleaning marks. Dead center. They DO affect the photo though. Lens produces some pretty crazy flare and softness in the center. I don't really want to pay for a re-coating (I'm pretty sure it needs one). That's why I'm getting rid of it. I'm hoping to make enough to get a Canon or Voightlander wide angle lens.

Assuming none of you guys are interested (I can provide pics), what would you say I should ask for this? I checked for completed auctions on ebay, but couldn't find many and none with similar problems.

Thank you.

Unusually I have a fair front element on a seriously junk lens (in the UK). Where are you?

I doubt you'd get the money you are looking for...and nor would I!

I hear ya, Michael. I'm not greedy. I'd keep the lens if I thought I could get anything decent out of it. But I have no experience with lens repairs, or coatings, or any of that and won't risk doing it myself if someone would give me any kind of money or trade for it. I feel it's worth more than an Industar though. Even in it's current condition. Other than the front element, the lens is practically perfect. It's beautiful outside and in...other than those cleaning marks.
