PrimeFilm XE issue?

Let me preface this by saying Im not sure if this is an issue or not. I just received the scanner and I immediately noticed something odd. There seems to be an over exposed vertical strip along the right and left side of the frame. This does not exist on the negative, nor did it appear in my Epson v600 scan. This occurs beyond 24 x 36mm, as the portion that I am noticing is cropped out when doing a V600 scan. I want to say this is close to an additional mm past 24x36, according to the Silverfast frame guide.

The plot thickens...

I was searching the internet, and while info about this scanner is few and far between, I found out that this is basically a Reflecta proscan 10T with maybe a few differences. But on an obscure scanner forum I read someone mention that the film holder had to be updated because it was not as matte as it should be and the backlight during scanning was reflecting onto the film, causing basically what I am experiencing. I guess the new one is more matte and has rounded edges to eliminate this.

I called PacificImage and it seems I have an older style of film holder. They are sending me a new one so we will see if this solves the issue. Theres very little info out there regarding these scanners so hopefully this will be of use to someone.

EDIT** turns out my carrier was the current carrier. I am getting an older version for the PrimeFilm 7200, but I am not sure it will solve the issue. This is a deal breaker, despite the otherwise great performance of this scanner.

Ok, so the problem was the film holder. I got a new holder that is actually for the previous model, the Prime Film 7200. No reflections, but it does not allow for a full scan of the negative to the absolute edge.
