Hi all,

I am going to have a show in a couple of months and I need some help / advice as to what kind of paper would be best for digital B/W printing. Here is some info on my work process. I shoot with kodak BW 400 CN and scan with Nikon Coolscan V. My friend owns a digital printing company and uses Epson Stylus Pro printer (among some other machines), but is not an expert on photographic printing.

The question is do you think this is an adequate way to print one's work to be shown and sold. What paper would be the best choice for such printing, in order to get archival quality and good tonal range, etc.? any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Okay, I did some more research on the web, and found someone recommending Museo silver rag. Looked also on the site inkjetart, but there are so many brands - its quite confusing. Any recommendations for certain brands? does it reall make a difference if I choose canon, epson or museo photo papers?

I have just seen this thread and I'm afraid it is too late for a proper suggestion. Maybe usefull for future: for B&W I found very good the Matt FB Mp paper , 310 gsm, from Harman, Baryta. You can try a look at their site.

I can't believe this thread was revived :) Thanks. The show has been postponed and will hopefully happen in early 2009. I decided to order a set of samples and just print some tests and see what I like best. But I haven't done that yet. I haven't even scanned all the photos I wanted to print.
