I had a relatively clean one; not scratched, some coating deterioration. It wasn't very good and a DR Summicron is far better value, plus you get the close-focusing feature.

If compactness isn't the overriding consideration the Canon Serenar f1.8 that you are looking at is at least as good as a collapsible Summicron. I think it is a bit better, and it should be much cheaper, and it isn't exactly massive either.

I have a collapsible with mint glass and coatings that is worth more than $900 to me. It's the one lens I wouldn't sell.
I will not sell mine either.
Leica IIIg, Summicron 50mm f/2 collapsible, Tmax400.

if you put me up against a wall and were going to shoot me if i didn't pick one of my lenses, my collapsible summicron would probably be my sophie's choice lens.

I love my collapsible more and more, too. It is a very sharp lens, and at the same time not harsh. Great for portraits, too. Mine is optically close to pristine. It does flare more than more modern lenses when shot against the light (full sunlight), but I am often surprised by how well it handles tough light.
I was pining for a Dual Range a while, but not any more.
