I just got a new Canonet QL 17 GIII in pristine conditions, got the batterys bought from internet and light seals coming all the way down to Argentina.
But I was testing the camera and realized that every 3 to 5 cranks advancing film it gets stucked!
When I started looking closer to the advancing film mechanism and quick load system, I realized that one of the 3 clamping levers (don't know how are they called) is not in the proper position. Two of them has a silver stick going trough them. The third one, has the hole on it, but the silver stick only goes trough one of the holes in the down side, but not trough the hole in the upper side.
It doesn't seems broken or anything, it's just out of the silver stick. How do i get it back into it's correct position?
Some pics:
Here's the lever I'm talking about.

It get's on the wrong position, and think this might be getting it stucked!

You can see it's not on the right place because I can take it up with the tool.

Does anyone knows if this is okey? or it's broken?
Can it be fixed at home?
Do I have to take it to CLA?
What you guys think?
It's hard to explain, and I'm not and english is not my everyday language.
Please help me solve this problem.

But the 3 levers are attached at both sides right?
None of them is free on one of the sides.
I don't know if this matters or not. But the camera always get stuck at the "picture" numer 2.
So I get from S to 0, 1 and the advance film gets stuck at #2.
At the fifth time I want to crank the advancing film lever.

I just looked at mine & it somehow hooks to the metal rod. But the main thing you need to look for is the spring. There is a spring that the metal rod goes through. If the spring is missing your out of luck til you can get another. What you might want to do is buy a broken Canonet for parts.

Nope.
The spring is in there, in the metal rod.
The only thing is that I don't know how to hook the lever back to it's original position. Don't even know how someone could manage to take it out, without taking everthing apart.
Does anyone knows how to hook that lever back on the rod?

You'll probably need to take it apart to put the rod back into it's place. Looks to be hardened steel & you wouldn't want to bend anything. Good luck. Brian Sweeny can tell you probably how to take it apart.

Yes they're all attached on both sides. I can't really see properly but it looks like the rods go through holes at each end of the bracket and that's what holds them in place. Don't see how one could come apart like yours without being broken, but I may be wrong. Sorry !

Another thing is that the little square window under the crank gets "red" (instead of white) when it gets stucked.

Great couldn't find it for myself.
Does anyone knows if the advance film lever, is threaded or something? I'm trying to get the upper part off, to check out some stuff.
Because I found out that:
*I can avance film without releaseing the shutter (this is not suppposed to happend)
*It always gets stuck at the same place and the little square windows down the advance film crank looks red.

Yeah, found that.
But couldn't take the advancing film lever off. It's kinda hard. Is it threaded? Do I have to take it clockwise or not?
In that repair manual, seems to be the QL system, hope I can take it appart and put the lever back to where it belongs.
With that done, the camera will be just fine, hope so!
