I suddenly have a ghost showing up on my monitor screen on my M8. The attached photo is of the monitor screen displaying an image shot of the clear sky. That "box" shadow shows up on every image. The actual image files are fine. This just shows up on the back screen.
Has anyone seen this before on their M8?

I don't have an M8, so this is just a guess. I wonder if there is some feature, buried in some sub-menu, that you may have activated by accident? Like maybe a cropping outline or something?

What you see with your camera is the famous "coffee stain issue" with Leica M8 samples.
It is a problem with the LCD display, nothing is harmed about your files or the cameras function.
Contact your dealer/ Leica, how to have this issue repaired.

Menos,
Thanks for the comments.. with your suggestion of the term "Coffee Stain", I was able to find other discussions on the issue.
Seems like a problem more on the scale of cosmetic than a real problem affecting image making. I'll check into getting it resolved, but will likely just live with it.
My experience with this camera has been really good and the images hold up very well.
Thanks again.
